In the present paper it has been emphasized that developing proper understandingofNature ofscience is more important than imparting only superficial knowledge of science content. In this light curriculum framers should keep a balance between the emphasis on-knowledge about science and knowledge in science. The three important components of science pedagogy i.e. science for inquiring mind, science for action and science for citizenship should be the crux of all teaching learning efforts.
