Abstract

The present paper aims to study the quality of life of two socio-economically contrast localities (Jiwangarh and Sir Sayyad Nagar) of Aligarh city. It also aims to analyse the impact of educational attainment of the people on the employment structure, income and quality of build-up environment, or in other words, the overall quality of these two localities. The entire study is based on the primary data collected by the researchers through household surveys. Hundred families are selected from two localities by random stratified sampling technique. It is observed that education directly influences the nature of employment and in turn the income level of the inhabitants in these two areas. Income plays a vital role in determining the quality of life of the residents in these localities.
