For almost century students of Education are under the impression that learning is change in behavior which expect to cause learning in students, but this view is changing in the context of the constructivist approach which is bringing Paradigm shift from Behaviorism to Constructivism in Education and which expect that learning by humans leads to change in the meaning of experience. This approach also believes that knowledge should be constructed. The cost of these failures both to the individual and society is enormous. Learning must be caused by the learner, when student learn about learning, they take charge of their own learning and burden of having to cause learning among teachers get minimized and teachers can concentrate on teaching and the goal of teaching becomes the achievement of shared learning. Hence, there should be powerful strategies to help students to learn and help to organize learning events. The present Research article describes the development of concept food chain by IX std. Students and effectiveness of the concept mapping technique on their achievement of the concept food chain.
