Abstract

The present study was designed to explore the personality correlates of wisdom. For this, data were collected from 100 female B.Ed. students randomly selected from various education colleges of Hisar city of Haryana with the age ranging from 20 to 30 years (mean age 25 years). Selected participants were tested with Neo-Five Factor Inventory and Three Dimensional Wisdom Scale. Obtained data were analysed with descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlations. Results revealed the multidimensional nature of wisdom and its three components to be supplementary to each other. Correlations revealed three factors of personality namely, extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness to be significant personality correlates of affective and reflective components of wisdom. Unexpectedly cognitive wisdom did not mark significant correlation with any of factors of personality.
