The study is an attempt to find out the teacher effectiveness and organizational climate in relation to emotional intelligence among teachers at secondary stage. The sample consisted of 30 senior secondary schools selected from Jalandhar District. Out of the selected schools, approximately 20 teachers from each school are taken and investigation was carried out on 600 teachers to whom emotional intelligence, organizational climate and teacher effectiveness questionnaires were administered. The obtained data were analyzed with the help of 2x2analysis of variance. The data revealed that (i) Both male and female teachers were found to exhibit same level of teacher effectiveness. (ii) Teachers with high emotional intelligence were found to be more effective in their teaching than teachers with low emotional intelligence. (iii) Female teachers exhibited more ‘disengagement’ than the male teachers whereas male teachers exhibited more ‘espirit’ than the female teachers. (iv) Teachers with low emotional intelligence exhibited ‘more alienation’, ‘less intimacy’, ‘less controls’, ’low production emphasis’ and ‘low humanized thrust’ than the teachers with high emotional intelligence. (v) Male teachers with low emotional intelligence exhibited ‘less production emphasis’ than the male teachers with high emotional intelligence.
