The relationship between sense of deprivation and education is indispensable for understanding the significant impact of sense of deprivation on later life of an adolescent. The present paper aims to find the effect of school type, gender & school satisfaction of the adolescents on their sense of deprivation. Sharma Adolescents’ School Satisfaction Scale (SASSI) developed by Dr. Meenakshi Sharma (1991) and Self Expression Inventory (SEI) by Dr. R.P. Verma and Dr. Usha Upadhaya (1984) were administered on a sample of 200 adolescents studying in secondary schools selected through random cluster sampling technique from four districts of Himachal Pradesh. Norms for level of school satisfaction were developed from school satisfaction scores on SASSI by applying the technique of Mean±1/2SD. Statistical technique of 2x2x2 ANOVA was used to analyze the sense of deprivation scores adolescents. The results indicated that adolescents having lower level of school satisfaction possess a high sense of deprivation. A significant difference was found in the school satisfction of adolescents studying in private and government secondary schools. The overall level of sense of deprivation found among the adolescents was average.
