Challenges faced by women with disabilities

Differently abled people face many obstacles in their life. They struggle very hard to obtain their rights. Even though both men and women with special needs are prone to discrimination, differently abled women are at additional disadvantages because of the combined discrimination in terms of gender as well as disability. The empowerment of women is largely determined by the economic and social identity which can be achieved only when they are accepted by the society and are given equal opportunity as the other people obtains. This paper highlights the status of differently abled women, challenges they are facing and the ways and means to overcome it.
