Abstract

Majority of educators had a perception that the teaching mathematics through blended approach of both procedural and conceptual approaches yields better results. For this study the students on the rolls of class 8 in Kalaburagi city of Karnataka form the universe. The study period for data collection is June 2015 to September 2015. The minimum standard/low achievement is defined as the student who fails to achieve 40 percent of objectives after the content was taught using either procedural approach, conceptual approach or both. The investigators found that only the teaching approaches viz., procedural approach conceptual approach or both adopted by the teachers of Kalaburagi city in the study period could not bring complete success in achieving the targets.
