FSO that is the acronym of free space optics is an emerging technology, ascendancy of this technology is booming day by day due to its, massive bandwidth, excessive speed, minimal error, efficient communication and Maximum performance. However its capabilities are limited by local weather conditions like fog, rain, snow etc.in this paper we have designed an FSO system in which the parameters taken into consideration are beam divergence, data rate, transmitter aperture, receiver aperture, range and power. The system is designed at 40 GB/s WDM at 4km distance using NRZ modulation format with Avalanche Photodetector (APD).
