In this paper the numerical analysis of the heat transfer in the laminar boundary layer driven by the linearly stretching nonisothermal sheet subjected to free stream pressure gradient is carried out. The similarity transformation based on composite reference velocity (union of velocities of the stretching boundary and free stream) has been employed that leads to a single set of equations, irrespective whether the sheet is moving faster or slower than the free stream. Solutions are found for two parameters i.e., the ratio of free stream velocity to composite reference velocity and the Prandtl number of the ambient fluid. The numerical solutions of the thermal boundary layer equations are obtained for Prandtl numbers 0.7, 1, 3 and 10. It is found that the heat transfer coefficient show appreciable dependence on the ratio of free stream velocity to composite reference velocity and increase in its value results in decrease in heat transfer coefficient for the same Prandtl number.
