Abstract

The aim of this paper is to illustrate the preparation of aluminum based metal matrix composite pellets reinforced by alumina powder at different compaction loads, to study the effect of compaction loads on their densities & electrical conductivity and also to study the effect of different reinforcement compositions on the density and electrical conductivity. It is observed that density increased with the increase in compacting load. The density at a particular compacting load decreases with increase in percentage composition of Alumina. The conductivity increases with increase in compacting load for a particular composition. However as the percentage composition increases the conductivity decreases.
