Health alert by continuous monitoring of vital signs on gear phones

Abstract

A person is normal unless he discovers that he is a patient of high/low blood pressure/sugar/or any other disease after encountering the symptoms, so, being affected by the disease. The emergence of advanced wireless technologies and advancements in on-body sensor design has been benefiting the health-care system a lot. Today as diseases grow rapidly, the need of each individual to be health conscious increases. Wearable monitoring systems can provide continuous physiological data, as well as better information regarding the general health of individuals. Close observation of the vital signs has shown to be an effective way on reducing the severity of the disease[1]. Thus, such vital-sign monitoring systems will reduce health-care costs by disease prevention and enhance the quality of life with disease management. In this paper, we propose a Health alert system which is based on continuous monitoring of vital signs through sensors embedded in wearable smart phones (Gear). This system shall facilitate individuals to get their basic health parameters monitored regularly which leads to early detection of many health problems in body.
