Function Point is an estimation technique used for the estimation of effort, time and cost of a software. Two steps are involved in Function Point Computation. In the first step, Unadjusted Function Point is Computed followed by the computation of Value Adjustment Factor. Basically, crisp data is being used for the computation of function point. There is a scope of calibirating the weighting factors of functional units, i.e., input, output, inquiries, internal logical files and external files, during unadjusted function point calculation using Linguistic variables and also the fourteen general system characteristics can be evaluated using the linguistic terminology. The objective of this paper is to present a fuzzy based approach for function point computation and an example is also given to explain the proposed method.
