Use of e-resources by post graduate students, research scholars and faculty members of department of sociology, Aligarh muslim university: A study

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain usage pattern of e-resources by students, research scholars and faculty members of the Sociology Department of AMU. The development in information technology has brought e-resource as a boon to research communities and today they are becoming a major source for scholarly communication. Electronic resources are generally accepted and used because of their unique advantages such as ease of usability, readability, affordability and accessibility. In the present studies, the usage pattern of e-resources has been studied by the author with the help of deep literature review followed by recording feedback by way of questionnaire, interviews and investigators observation method. Findings of this study shows that majority of the users including PG students, research scholar, and faculty members opined e-resources as the most preferred and helpful resources and they are satisfied with library's physical facilities, working hours and the service provided by library and their staff.
