Indian journal of genetics and plant breeding: A bibliometrtic study of publications from 2008 - 2017

Abstract

This study analyses the Indian journal of Genetics and Plant breeding during the period 2008–2017 (Total 10 volumes from 68–77). The main purpose of this study is to analyze the different aspects of this popular journal such as yearly distribution of articles, author productivity, page length, country and state wise distribution of articles and cited references etc. 41 volumes published with 767 Articles. Maximum numbers 542 (15.48%) of the contributors contributed in the year 2014 and minimum numbers 251 (7.16%) contributors contributed in the year 2010. Highest numbers 388 (50.58%) of the articles published with page range 6–10 and lowest numbers only 2 (0.26%) articles published with page range 21& more pages. In the top ten ranked states highest contributions are from Delhi with 236 (32.37%) articles and on the tenth place Uttarakhand state was with 42 (5.76%) contributions. Highest numbers 2685 of references cited by authors in the year 2016 and lowest numbers 950 references were cited by authors in the year 2011 respectively.
