Evaluation of cultural heritage information resources of select akademi libraries in digital era: A comparative study

Abstract

This study focuses on the evaluation of Cultural Heritage Information Resources available in the selected akademi libraries of Delhi i.e. Sangeet Natyak Akademi (SNA) Library, New Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA) Library, New Delhi and Sahitya Akademi (SA) Library, New Delhi. The study clearly shows the availability of cultural information resources in printed and digital format as well as methods of access of cultural information resources. The requirements of the readers are described in this paper and also depict the satisfaction level of the readers with respect to their specific requirements. The overall objectives of this study is to ascertain the availability of Cultural Heritage Information Resources, the types of resources selected for digitization, the methods of access of cultural information resources and the information required for the readers. This paper also described in detail the library services provided to the readers with the help of applications of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) tools and techniques.
