Authorship and collaboration pattern in library herald during 2003–2018: An evaluation

Library Herald is one of the most popular and famous journal in the field of Library and Information Science. This study is an analysis of authorship and collaboration pattern of Library Herald during 20032018. In the period of the study, a total of 511 articles were published and out of which 298 articles have been published by single author, 155 articles have been published by two authors, 44 articles have been published by three author and remaining 8 articles have been published by more than three authors. From the study, it is amply clear that single authorship pattern is dominant in Library Herald. In this analysis it is seen that the, average collaboration coefficient is 0.22, average degree of collaboration is 0.41, average collaboration index is 1.54 and average relative growth rate (ARG) is 0.20 and average doubling time (DT) is 5.44 during 2003–2018. The highest activity index for India is counted in the year 2015(109.75) and lowest activity index is counted in the year 2013(76.86). The highest activity index for World is counted in 2013(281.89) and lowest activity index is counted in the year 2015(23.31).
