A study on the use of e-pg pathshala among the science students of aligarh muslim university

Abstract

The rapid growth of modern technology has influenced teaching and learning activities by using electronic learning (e-learning). The present study investigates the use and awareness of e-PG Pathshala among the science postgraduate (PG) students at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). e-PG Pathshala is an open courseware portal that is a curriculum-based interactive e-content portal for PG students. The study is conducted through survey method by using questionnaire for data collection. It is revealed that most of the students are aware of e-PG Pathshala and use it to write thesis/dissertation/notes. It is found from the survey that maximum PG students access e-PG Pathshala from their respective hostel or home. Keyword is the most preferred searching tool to get results. The majority of the students consider e-PG Pathshala as useful because of its access and searching capabilities and availability around the clock. The majority of the users are experienced in handling e-PG Pathshala. The majority of the users find e-PG Pathshala as easy to access. The study reflects the use and awareness of e-PG Pathshala among the PG students of the science faculty only. This paper is one of the few papers which discuss the awareness and usage of e-PG Pathshala. And no similar study has been conducted primarily in the context of AMU.
