Implementation of open source software in government sector: A case study of nehru memorial museum and library

Open Source Software (OSS) is a software development methodology in which programmers may access, read, alter, and redistribute the software code. Because of its potential benefits, open source software (OSS) has grown in favour in government sector. The government of India has implemented Open Source Software in different sectors including library. The author examined the implementation and use of Koha library software in Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. It is indicated that the most of the library and information science professionals have appositive perception towards implementation/adoption of Koha software. The majority of respondent stated that the lack of training and re-training of staff, lack of technical knowledge and inadequate in-house experts are major challenges in implementation of Koha software in Library.
