Analysis of faculty profile in Indian Research Information Network System (IRINS): A case study of Mizoram University

Abstract

This study delves into Mizoram University's research ecosystem using the Indian Research Information Network System (IRINS), with a focus on types of publications, faculty composition, and impactful research. The analysis reveals a total of 1,626 publications, comprising 1,623 scholarly works and 3 patents. The faculty, consisting of 213 members, exhibits a gender distribution of 72% male and 28% female contributors. Publications are categorised into journal articles, conference proceedings, books/chapters, and other publications, with journal articles dominating. The research also explores the H-index and identifies the top ten profile citations, highlighting influential faculty members based on publication and citation metrics. Additionally, the study examines the total publications of Mizoram University across different types. This concise overview provides key insights into Mizoram University's research landscape through the lens of IRINS, contributing to a broader understanding of research information management in the Indian academic context.
