Abstract

This study examines the availability, utilisation, and perceived contribution of electronic resources in Government and private polytechnic Bangalore region college libraries in Karnataka, India. A survey was conducted among Polytechnic students to assess the accessibility and utilisation patterns of various EIRs. Findings indicate that while most EIRs are available, some resources are universally inaccessible. E-journals and E-books are the most utilised, while E-thesis and CD-ROM databases are less utilised. Perceived contribution to effective research is high for most EIRs, except for E-thesis. The study highlights areas for improvement in resource provision and utilisation to enhance research infrastructure in government and private polytechnic college libraries.
