Abstract

The publishing industry is switching over from print to electronic media with the Information and Communication Technology revolution and the information profession is witnessing increased availability of electronic or web based resources. In this environment, e-resources are frequently used for study, research and teaching purposes. The present study has been taken up to investigate the role of e-journals in information transmission among the medical PG students of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. It was conducted through a questionnaire based survey of the respondents. The study explores the level of awareness; place, purpose and frequency of use, mode of reading, problems faced in accessing e-journals, etc. It also recommends some suggestions to improve the e-journal services based on the findings of the study.
