Bibliometric analysis of literature published in emerald journals on open source

The present study is based on the bibliometric analysis of publications on an open source appeared in the emerald journals from April 1998 to May 2010. The bibliographical details of each publication on an open source were downloaded from the emerald website and recorded onto a spread sheet with pre-designed columns. This study has undertaken total 63 publications published on an open source which were appeared in emerald journals. Maximum number of articles contributed by single author 40 (63.49%). Library Hi Tech and Program electronic library and information systems have first rank among the published literature on an open source software respectively.
