Abstract

In order to initiate e-commerce in your library, you must understand what exactly this new omnipresent term is e-commerce and as a major goal for many libraries is the improvement of information services, book procurement. The article describes a modeling library for analysis and optimization of distributed service systems: enterprise computing infrastructures, e-commerce, e-service systems and how a library uses e-commerce to achieve this goal.The article also describes the benefit of e-purchasing, mainly the reduction in the purchase cycle, reduction of paper work and reduction in prices of books purchased.

The authors intends to defines value chains analysis, explains the e-commerce role in the value chain process and review the popular e-commerce models that are being used by the library to achieve the goal of online acquisition. It then provides a details definition of e-commerce.
