Use of electronic information resources in KGEC Kanpur: A survey

The electronics information resources have become of the important part of digital era library. Electronic information resources are necessary in the contemporary environment of rapid technology change. This paper focuses on use of the electronic information resources in the library of Krishna Girls Engineering College (KGEC), Library by the students, faculty and students members for their study, research, teaching, project and consultancy purposes. In this paper examines the interest of the users about using of internet, electronic information, electronic journals, relevant information, and issue/return services provided by the library. It is also discusses frequency of their visit to the library and tools used for searching the information. A survey was conducted, using questionnaire, to collect the data wherein this case study exhibits sex wise distribution of users, longevity of using the internet, awareness about e-information resources and e-journals from internet. It will remove the ignorance of traditional users. Questionnaire was administered to the entire library users.
