Questionnaire method was employed to gather data from researchers of humanities and sciences disciplines in Panjab University. Responses received from 87 research scholars shows that in general the research scholars indicate that guidance in the use of Library resources and services is needs to help researchers meet their information requirements. Reveals that books, journals and e-resources etc, have created a positive hope among the research community in searching the information. More than 52% research scholars take the benefit of the Internet facility in their department or from the library. Journals (75.8%) are the main sources of information for the research scholars, followed by Internet (72.41%). 65.51% of the respondents search information through print materials whereas 34.48% prefer e-media for searching their material. Surprisingly 14.9% respondents are not much aware about e-resources facility available in the library. 85 (97.7%) research scholars prefer to use e-journals, followed by e-book and E-mail 62 (71.26%) and 65 (74.7%), and whereas 76 (87.35%) prefer to use e-Thesis, while 73 (83.9%) scholars prefer to use e-Database. The majority of scholars used Science Direct 58 (66.66%). UGC-Infonet journals are used by 60.91% of research scholars, whereas 42.52% used the AICTE-Indest journals. 75.86% scholars have faced barriers in seeking their desired information. 41.37% respondents asses that, staff performance as very good.
