Access to online journals in Maulana Azad Library, AMU, Aligarh: A user study

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the use of online-journals by M.Phil and Ph.D. students those who are enrolled in Maulana Azad Library, AMU, Aligarh. The main aim of this study is to determine the purpose of accessing online-journals, to find out their level of use, satisfaction and problems in accessing online-journals. A well-structured questionnaire was administered to the students to collect the necessary data regarding the online journals and services of library and most of the students use them to their research process. The study reveals that full-text online-journals of publishers such as Emerald, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis, J-STOR were highly used among the students. The majority of M.Phil and Ph.D. students were satisfied with the available online-journals at Maulana Azad Library.
