The paper examines the meaning and interpretation of information delegation in the context of Indian financial industry. An attempt has been made to study the aspect of delegating the task of collecting information with regard to the frequency of information delegation; reasons for delegation and non-delegation; nature of information given for collecting the same to other officials in the organisation from different sources; and the information needs of the corporate managers working in financial institutions in India so as to develop need-based resources in corporate sector libraries. The paper examines various private information providers’ products being used by the managers and the satisfaction level for such products. Preference of managers in using the content aggregators’ databases has also been presented in the paper.
