Library is considered an integral component of any efficient education system. It plays an important role in the improvement of the organisation. This study has been carried out on “Library Use Pattern and Information Seeking Behaviour of Scientific Community Library Users of Assam University, Silchar” in order to know the status of library usage pattern and to understand information seeking behaviour of Scientific Community Assam University Library Users pertaining to type of material, sources and the services used by the scientific community library users of Assam University, Silchar.
The present study has been undertaken with a view to assess the availability of various resources and services in Rabindra Library and to find out the extent of use of these resources by the scientific community library users. It also assesses the extent of library users satisfaction level pertaining to adequacy of collection development of library learning resources, types of services, search strategies, usefulness of learning resources, preference of timings of library visit and library staff cooperation in searching desired information.
