Assessment of the Soli Quality of the Oussudu Watershed and Its Relationship with Irrigation Water Quality

An assessment of the soil quality of Oussudu watershed has been made on the basis of a network of 28 sampling sites. Simultaneously the electrical conductivity and pH of the surface water, dug-well water, and bore well water of the watershed have been studied at 21 sites. The information has been analyzed with the help GIS in order to on one hand, generate thematic maps, and, on the other hand, find the extent of correlation between the soil quality and water quality. The information is particularly useful in zoning the watershed into regions facing different degrees of salinity hazard so that land-use can be done accordingly.
