Abstract

Small Hydro Power plants are the need for today. India has around 15000 MW potential for large number small hydel plants in various states. The data is collected for Vidarbha in Maharashtra State which can be further used for power generation as fresh renewable resources, i.e., it is newly identified potential sites. The equation for design discharge has been formulated by considering the rivers with width, depth and the flow of water. Further analysis for cost calculations of various components of SHP are done and simple program in C language is also written based on the equations.
