People are increasingly on the move and migrate for various reasons that might be influenced by economic, political, humanitarian, or other conditions. In developing countries like India, unemployment in the agricultural sector has increased as agricultural occupation apart from other reasons, is perceived to be non lucrative. As a result, the number of people employed in the primary sector has decreased, resulting in a decline in rural employment. Consequently, farmers and farm labourers have been forced to migrate to urban areas primarily in search of jobs. This paper aims to assess the status of migrated farmers/agricultural labourers at the place of migration and the condition of their families at their native places. For this purpose, the District of Adilabad in Telangana state has been selected as a sample. The survey results indicate that the status of migrants at the place of migration and their respective family members at native place is far from satisfactory.
