Abstract

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar advocated welfare and stressed utilising the funds optimally in a planned and systematic way. The Guardians of Governance (GOG) department was set up to focus on implementing schemes of welfare and eradicating misuse of funds. The objective is to evaluate the impact of the GOG scheme in the Majha region of Punjab. The GOG scheme has fairly succeeded in increasing the effective implementation of welfare schemes. The government should ensure that complaints forwarded by GOGs to concerned departments are addressed in a time-bound manner to keep the faith of citizens in GOGs and their commitment to good governance.
