In ancient Indian medical literature it has been mentioned that panchgavya enhances the body resistance and makes body refractory to infections. Cow urine is an important ingredient of panchgavya which has been tested by various workers for its immunomodulatory properties and have been reported that it enhances both cellular and humoral immune response. In the present investigation in-vivo cow urine treatment to developing chicks marginally upregulated the lymphocyte proliferaion activity. More work in the area can be initiated to develop an ideal immunomodulator of cow urine origin by using various dose regimen of cow urine.
