Minerals act as electrolytes and catalysts in enzyme and hormone system of livestock and play an important role in growth, feed efficiency, gestation, lactation and to improve the ability of animals’ immune system to combat infection. The impact of TANUVAS mineral mixture towards dairy cattle and buffaloes in terms of their productive and reproductive performances in Karur district of Tamil Nadu, Southern India showed that the animals attained maturity at their optimum age when fed with mineral mixture. It was found that the age at maturity in cattle was 1.2 years and 2.8 years in buffaloes. Like that the age at first calving was noticed 2.2 years in cattle and in buffaloes it was 3.8 years. The calving interval was found as 1.16 years in cattle and 1.3 years in buffaloes. The milk yield of cattle on an average increased remarkably to 1.46±0.14 perday and in buffaloes it was 1.39±0.09 per day. The fat percentage increased to 0.38 per cent in cattle and 0.43 per cent in buffaloes. Overall, 92 per cent of the respondents felt that the status of the animals was good and healthy while feeding mineral mixture.
