Abstract

The study was carried out in 80 Tharparkar cattle belonging to farmers’ stock of area in and around Jaisalmer district. The overall mean values of lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH) and isocitric acid dehydrogenase (ICDH) were 997.41±47.12 and 16.2±1.9, U/Litre, respectively. The overall mean values of LDH and ICDH during extreme hot, intervening and extreme cold periods were 712±61.2 and 12±1.4; 1009±52.2 and 17±1.8; and 1271±46.3 and 20±2.4, U/L, respectively. The effect of ambience was significant (p = 0.05) on the mean values of dehydrogenases. Effects of sex and age were also found significant (p = 0.05).
