Abstract

Frozen - thawed semen from Kankrej cow bulls was subjected to Post Thaw Motility (PTM) examination. The samples with 50 percent and 60 percent PTM were again examined for Hypo - Osmotic Swelling Test (HOST) by incubating the sample for 1 hour at 37° C in sodium citrate - fructose solution. Highly significant difference was found between two groups. With higher motility the HOS reacted sperms were also increased in count. Based on the findings it was concluded that the HOST and PTM could be used to evaluate best quality semen from available batches of the cryo preserved semen.
