This study was conducted to compare the children of working mothers and home making mothers from the point of view of their mental health problems as experienced by them. The sample comprised 100 randomly selected children belonging to working mothers and 100 belonging to home making mothers. Their age ranged between 12-13 years and they belonged to the private and public schools of Patna City. They were administered the Mental Health Battery.The analyses of the data revealed that the two groups of children differed significantly on all the dimensions of mental health and also on self-concept and intelligence. The proposed hypothesis is approved.
