Application of geosynthetics in energy dissipation mechanism of a large dam: Case study of Kadana, Gujarat

When conventional restoration of an ogee type roller in Kadana Dam Spillway was not feasible, application of geosynthetics made it viable. The paper discusses fine engineering aspects of the entire case study on conceptual level and underline an ample scope of more such repair works with the application of geosynthetics for a better structural and hydraulic proposition.
