Effect of Different Combinations of Organic Manures and Chemical Fertilizers on Growth of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill)

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Horticultural Research Farm of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur during rabi 2006–07. The results revealed that vegetative growth characters such as plant height, number of primary and secondary branches, number of leaves, stem girth, fresh and dry weight of plant and root found superior in 50% N from inorganic source + 50% N from FYM, followed by 100% N from inorganic source. The flowering, fruiting, maturity and harvesting were found earlier under control as compared to other treatments applied in the investigation.
