Effect of Organic Manures and Chemical Fertilizer on Yield and Quality of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill)

Abstract

Present investigation was conducted at the Horticultural Research Farm of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Raipur during rabi 2006–07. The results revealed the yield contributing characters such as number of fruits plant−1, number of fruits clusters−1, fresh and dry weight of fruit were recorded higher in N from inorganic source + 50% N from FYM, followed by 100% N from inorganic source. Qualitative characters such as TSS (%) and reducing sugar contents (%) were found better in 100% N from poultry manure followed by 100% N from vermicompost.
