Experiment conducted on the seed germination, seedling growth and vigour of Karonda (Carissa carandus L.) revealed that there were significant differences in germination and seedling growth behaviour of Karonda affected significantly by soil media and seed storage period. The results showed germination characters like days taken to start germination, 50% germination, germination percentage and seedling vigour index were maximum in the treatment combination D0M2 containing fresh seeds sown just after extraction and soil + FYM + vermicompost in the ratio of 2: 1: 1 followed by D1 M2 containing 15 days stored seeds for sowing and soil + FYM + vermi compost in the ratio of 2: 1: 1. Similarly the seedling growth characters like seedling height, girth, number of leaves, shoot length, root length and plant biomass were highest in the treatment combination D0 M2 which reflected higher vigour index in the same treatment.
