The study was conducted at Instructional, cum-Research Farm of Department of Horticulture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) during rabi season (2014–15) to evaluation and characterization of leafy vegetables (Amaranthus spp.) grown in Chhattisgarh. The result indicated that the maximum plant height (cm), number of leaves per 10 plant, leaf length (cm), leaf breadth (cm), root length (cm), fresh weight (g), number of branches per plant, leaf yield (kg/plot) was recorded in the genotype IGCB-52 (83.91 cm), IGCB-31 (26.40), IGCB-45 (3.58 cm), IGCB-45 (3.58), IGCB-51 (13.84 cm), IGCB-45 (26.72 g), IGCB-40 (6.17), IGCB-45 (9.25 kg/plot).
