The present investigation consists of carrying out a field experiment for two consecutive years. The effect of soil and climatic conditions prevailed during the crop season may also effect the growth and yield of crop besides the treatments. The experiment entitled effect of nitrogen for maximum growth and yield of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) in gird zone of (M.P.). cv. Kufri Sindhuri was conducted during rabi season 2013–14 and 2014–15. Observation to be recorded days to germination was showed non significant difference under all the nitrogen levels. Maximum number of shoots per plant at 30 DAS N3 and minimum was under N0, maximum leaf area (cm2) at 50 DAS was recorded under N3, maximum number of rotted tuber/plot was recorded under nitrogen level N0 and minimum was under N3. Maximum weight of rotted tuber per plot was recorded under N0 and minimum was in nitrogen levels N3. Seed yield (25–75 gm size) kg/ha was recorded under N3.
