Indian agriculture is become well established, use of mechanized and science provide the possibilities for using input to enhance the yield and food safety but important of growth regulators become more vital. Use of plant growth regulators in modern olericulture is well established. Physiological activities and growth of the plant are controlled by action and interaction of chemical substance called as hormones. Certain operation of vegetable production like seed germination, sex expression, fruiting, flowering, branching are mostly dependent on the use of synthetic growth regulators. In recent years, interest in vegetable production has been increased rapidly because good price value in market and place of vegetables in world food requirement. Yield increase in vegetable crops has been obtained by improved varieties, efficient use of organic and chemicals fertilizers and various agronomic practices. Besides, growth regulating chemicals are also becoming important in the field of olericulture for the modification of vegetative growth, flowering, fruiting and quality.
