Abstract

An experiment was carried out during kharif and rabi seasons of 2014–15 at College of Horticulture, Udyangiri, Bagalkot. To study the effect of pruning in rainy and winter season on yield and economics of guava cv. Sardar under different planting densities. The data revealed that the maximum yield per plant (5.05 kg/plant) was recorded in M6 (6 x 6 m) during rainy season. Yield per hectare was (16.54 t/ha) maximum in closer spacing M1 (2 x 2m). The maximum cost benefit ratio was (1:3.09) obtained from closer spacing in M1 followed by M2 (1:2.72) in main plot treatment. Among pruning intensities, yield per plant was (5.16 kg/plant) maximum in S4 during rainy season while in winter season it was (5.60 kg/plant) in S3.
