Abstract

An investigation was carried out during rabi 2011–12 on sweet potato + marigold intercropping at Horticultural Research cum Instructional Farm, Department of Horticulture. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications and eleven treatment combinations. The Sweet potato was harvested at 120 DAP and the observations were taken at the time of harvesting. Marigold flower picking was done from 48 DAP to 117 DAP in 7 pickings (with 10 days interval). The result revealed, that Sweet potato + Marigold African type 1: 1 row ratio (T4) was superior to others in sweet potato tuber equivalent yield (20122 kg ha−1), net profit ( 138213/-ha−1), B: C ratio (2.20) Sole crop sweet potato (T1) recorded with lower yield (12090 kg ha−1), net profit ( 73377/-ha−1) and B: C ratio (1.54).
