Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during three consecutive years i.e. from 2009–10 to 2011–12 on cumin as seed spice crop at Chilli and Vegetable Research Unit, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. The experiment was conducted in factorial randomized block design with five dates of sowing (1st October, 11st October, 21st October, 31st October and 11st November) as a main factor and two different sowing methods (flat bed and ridges and furrow method) as sub-factor. On the basis of pooled results, it was concluded that, sowing of cumin crop variety RZ-209 during last week of October (31st October) with ridges and furrow method gave maximum seed yield of cumin (5.99 q/ha).
