Deaths due to choking are relatively rare occurrences. A case report of chocking death in person suffering from schizophrenia is reported. Several mechanisms of death due to chocking in schizophrenia have been postulated. The use of antipsychotic medications, especially phenothiazine derivatives and tranquilizers are frequently related with such fatalities.
