An experiment was conducted on comparative performance of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj. & Cosson] and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) during the winter (rabi) season of 1995–96 and 1996–97 at New Delhi. Indian mustard outyielded sunflower. Indian mustard sown in the third week of October gave higher yields. Higher levels of irrigation and nitrogen did not bring significant improvement in the yields over lower levels.
